Getting Started for FlyData Autoload

To start using FlyData Autoload, there are a few simple steps to take. After installation and set up of our client, you won’t need to do anything and FlyData just starts working. There are just a few steps to get there. Click on the heading for the steps below to learn more about each.

Configure Amazon S3

To start, you will need an Amazon Web Services (AWS) account to launch an Amazon Redshift cluster. Once you have an AWS account, and you will have to configure it to work with FlyData.

Set Up Redshift Cluster

Next you will need to set up your Amazon Redshift Cluster. To do this, you will have to launch the cluster and then create a table. Click on the heading of this sub-section to see how this is done.

Amazon Redshift Credentials

For FlyData to be able to access your cluster, you need to enter the Amazon Redshift information for your organization on FlyData’s site.

Install FlyData Client

Finally, you will need to install the FlyData Client module. This will monitor any updates in your server logs. It processes any new data and sends that data to Amazon Redshift every five minutes so that you may quickly analyze your data. It’s lightweight, so it won’t drag down your server.

Once you have FlyData for Redshift installed and running, you will be able to run queries against your Redshift cluster. FlyData will upload automatically any new data from your specified logs onto FlyData every 5 minutes. Note that it may take up to 1 hour to see changes on your Amazon S3 bucket. Data will then be copied onto the Amazon Redshift cluster once an hour.
