1. What is the GDPR?
The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union and the European Economic Area. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU and EEA. The GDPR aims primarily to give control to citizens and residents over their personal data and to simplify the regulatory environment for international business by unifying the regulation within the EU.
2. How does GDPR impact FlyData and its customers?
The GDPR has different requirements depending on how your business interacts with personal data.
As a Data Processor, FlyData is responsible for safeguarding the data of our customers’ users as it flows through our system. As a Data Controller, our customers are responsible for safeguarding the data of their customers as they interact directly.
FlyData and our customers utilizing our platform must comply with the requirements of the GDPR.
3. Is FlyData collecting data?
We do receive minimum user information such as first and last name, email address, and phone number for our free trial. This information is used to set up an environment for the customer to try our platform for during the trial period.

Where appropriate we have executed DPAs with our respective EU customers and/or customers who process EU natural citizen data. We understand the GDPR is complex and has exhaustive requirements and obligations for both data controllers and data processors and we are committed to helping our customers use FlyData in a manner which meets the EU GDPR compliance framework.
